Full-view highly recommended.

Each image is actually a screen-cap from my 10-week animation project (at half the original resolution, so the entire animation is actually in Hi-Def).
I though it would be fun to put this in sequential form and also to give people an idea for the animation I did.

Check out another one [here]
A drawing that inspired this character...[link]
The original inspiration for that drawing...[link]

The animation is digital cut-out animation....all puppets/props/scenary/etc. were drawn in pencil and scanned...all colors or lighting effects done in Photoshop...all animation (including the reflection on the bar) was done in After Effects.

And all of this work is actually student copyrighted, so don't even think about stealing it, suckas!

Ha ha ha. I love the barkeep. I also love the detail you put into this animation, Pee-at. I can't wait to see it!

After I animated the cutout of the robot, I pre-rendered a quicktime of it...Then I added that quicktime to the composition, flipped it, added a mask with feathered edges, brought down the transparency, and there you have it.
I did 3 total...one for his face, one for the arm, and one for the bottle.

That's really clever, I wouldn't have thought about even including reflections on surfaces. Out of curiosity, did you find any good resources for After Effects animation, or did you mostly just play around with it yourself? My goal over the summer is to do an After Effects cartoon, so I can be more familiar with it by next Fall. Any resources would be much appreciated!

Actually, I didn't find or even look for any resources...all I did was take what I learned from 2d Comp. Animation I and worked from there, pretty much just explored things on my own I guess. But if you have any questions about how to do stuff I'd give you whatever help or suggestions I can.

I think this summer I'm going to try to put together an After Effects animation this summer too, probably with the characters from The Other Side cartoons that I draw...It would be much simpler than my one-quarter though.
